AIP Appeals for Prayers as MP Er Rashid, Hunger Strike Enters 9th Day

The Awami Ittihad Party (AIP) has issued an urgent appeal for prayers as the health condition of incarcerated Member of Parliament Er Rashid continues to deteriorate. On the ninth day of his indefinite hunger strike, Er Rashid remains hospitalized at RML Hospital, New Delhi, where he is reported to be rapidly losing weight.

Chief Spokesperson of AIP Inam Un Nabi expressed deep concern over Er Rashid's worsening health condition. "Despite his fragile health, Er Rashid continues his peaceful hunger strike, demanding his rightful place in Parliament to represent his constituency—the largest in Kashmir. We request everyone to pray for his well-being and strength during this challenging time," Inam Un Nabi stated.

Calling for immediate intervention, Inam Un Nabi further urged civil society, human rights organizations and political parties across the spectrum to speak up for Er Rashid’s immediate release. "This is not just about one person—it is a democratic and humanitarian crisis. Parliamentarians must rise above party lines and address this injustice. His presence in Parliament is critical for his people."

Inam Un Nabi further stated, "We have full faith in the judiciary and the Constitution of this country. We firmly believe that justice will prevail and Er Rashid's rightful place in Parliament will be restored. His continued incarceration is a test of our democratic values, but we remain hopeful that the principles of justice and fairness will triumph."
