Rain, Snow Expected In Jammu and Kashmir
A moderate-intensity Western Disturbance is set to affect Jammu and Kashmir from this afternoon, bringing a mix of rain and snowfall across the region, weather analysts said.
The precipitation is expected to begin in the higher reaches by late afternoon, gradually spreading to most parts of the Union Territory by tomorrow morning.
The intermittent rain and snow showers will persist until the evening of February 27, with a more intense spell anticipated from February 28, continuing through the morning or afternoon. However, the precipitation will not be continuous, as dry intervals are expected, particularly between the afternoon of February 26 and the evening of February 27.
Higher altitudes are likely to experience moderate snowfall, with heavy accumulation possible in certain areas. In the plains, rain will remain the dominant feature due to the relatively higher temperatures. However, there is a 25% chance of rain transitioning to snow in some plains on the night of February 27.
