NEP-2020 Conclave Concludes at SSM College with Expert Lecture by IIT Hyderabad Director

The five-day conclave on the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, hosted by SSM College of Engineering, Parihaspora, concluded today with a keynote lecture by Prof. (Dr.) B.S. Murty, Director of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Hyderabad.

The conclave, which began on April 9, brought together academicians and industry experts from leading institutions across the region. 

Participants included Prof. (Dr.) Mushtaq Ahmad Darzi, Dean, School of Management, University of Kashmir; Prof. (Dr.) Mushtaq Ahmad Siddiqi, Chief Coordinator NEP, University of Kashmir; Prof. (Dr.) M.A. Shah, Department of Physics, NIT Srinagar; Prof. Ajaz Masoodi, Department of Civil Engineering, NIT Srinagar; Prof. Shabir Ahmad Parah, Department of Electronics and Communication, University of Kashmir; Dr. Shabir Ahmad Sofi, Department of IT, NIT Srinagar; Prof. (Dr.) Saad Parvez, Department of Mechanical Engineering, NIT Srinagar; Dr. Shahzadi Wafai, Government Degree College Nowbahar, Pattan; and Dr. Muzamil Rafique, Executive Engineer, Jal Shakti Department, UT of Jammu and Kashmir.

Senior administrators and faculty from SSM College also took part in the event, engaging in detailed discussions and offering valuable suggestions on the implementation and impact of NEP-2020.

In his address, Prof. Murty emphasized India’s historical leadership in global education, stating, "India was once a Vishwa Guru in education and will become one again by offering vast choices and flexibility to students through NEP-2020."

The conclave served as a platform for in-depth deliberations on how the new education policy can transform the Indian education system and align it with global standards.
