In a heartfelt display of unity and grief, Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Gulmarg, Mr. Farooq Ahmad Shah, led a candlelight procession this evening at Tangmarg to mourn and protest the tragic killing of innocent tourists in Pahalgam on April 22.

The peaceful march began at 7:10 PM from Tangmarg Market, drawing a large crowd of citizens, students, activists, and members of civil society. Carrying candles and placards bearing messages of peace and justice, the participants walked in solidarity to honor the memory of the victims and to send a powerful message against violence.

While addressing the gathering, MLA Farooq Ahmad Shah said, “The eyes of every Kashmiri are moist today. This sorrow is not isolated to one place or one family, every Kashmiri individual is equally sharing the grief of the victims and their families. We stand together in mourning, and we stand united in our demand for peace and justice". He further added, “We are strongly condemning this heinous act which has shaken the conscience of our people.”

The march, marked by silence and dignity, was a symbolic gesture to emphasize the pain felt across Jammu & Kashmir. It concluded with a collective prayer and two minutes of silence in remembrance of those who lost their lives.
