Ceasefire Violated Within Hours, Pakistan Responsible for Fresh Intrusion: Foreign Secretary

Hours after an agreement was reached between the Directors General of Military Operations (DGMOs) of India and Pakistan to cease military hostilities, Pakistan has violated the understanding, triggering renewed tensions along the border.

Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, addressing the media in Delhi, confirmed that while a ceasefire agreement was concluded earlier in the evening, it has already been breached by Pakistan.

“An understanding was reached this evening between the DGMOs of India and Pakistan to stop the military action that was going on for the last few days. For the last few hours, this understanding is being violated by Pakistan,” Misri stated.

He confirmed that the Indian Army is actively responding to the fresh border intrusion and is taking necessary action to contain and repel the offensive.

“This intrusion is extremely condemnable, and Pakistan is fully responsible for it,” he added, urging Pakistan to take "appropriate and immediate" action to halt the violation.

The renewed border activity follows days of heightened military engagement, including drone intrusions and artillery exchanges along the Line of Control and International Border. Despite the agreement to de-escalate, tensions remain high as ground reports suggest continued hostilities.

Indian authorities are monitoring the situation closely and further diplomatic and military responses are expected if the violations persist.
