India’s All-Party Delegation Engages Global Leaders to Rally Support Against Terrorism

In a sweeping diplomatic campaign to galvanize international support against terrorism, a cross-party Indian parliamentary delegation has visited several countries, including Greece, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, and Guyana, to highlight India’s firm stance following the brutal terrorist attack in Pahalgam on April 22.

The multi-nation outreach, coordinated through Indian embassies and high commissions, aimed to strengthen global cooperation in counter-terrorism and convey India’s message of zero tolerance toward terror and its enablers.

In Athens, the delegation led by MP Kanimozhi Karunanidhi met senior Greek officials, including Deputy Foreign Minister Mr. Tasos Chatzivasileiou, members of the Greek Parliament, and think tanks. India emphasized the need for a unified global stance, calling on Greece to support holding terrorists and their sponsors accountable. Operation Sindoor, India’s measured military response, was presented as a demonstration of the country’s calibrated approach to justice. The delegation also addressed Greek media and engaged with the Indian diaspora in Greece, who expressed their solidarity.

In Riyadh, the delegation met with H.E. Dr. Mishaal Al-Sulami, Deputy Speaker of the Shura Council, and H.E. Mr. Adel Bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs. Saudi Arabia had earlier condemned the Pahalgam attack, and the Indian MPs thanked the Kingdom for its strong support. Discussions focused on dismantling terror infrastructure, preventing financing and safe havens, and promoting a “new normal” in counter-terrorism cooperation. Both nations reaffirmed their commitment to de-radicalization and curbing extremism.

In South Africa, the delegation held multiple high-level meetings in Cape Town, including with Hon’ble Mr. P (Les) Govender, Deputy Chairperson of the National Council of Provinces; the Parliamentary Portfolio Committee on International Relations; and Deputy Minister in the Presidency, Mr. Kenneth Morolong. The South African side expressed solidarity with India, observing a minute of silence for the victims. The Democratic Alliance party also affirmed support for India’s right to defend itself against cross-border terrorism.

In Guyana, the delegation met with Speaker Manzoor Nadir, Foreign Minister Hugh Todd, and members of the National Assembly. The Guyanese leadership reiterated its condemnation of the Pahalgam attack and expressed full support for India’s position. During interactions with local media and academia, the Indian side emphasized that terrorism is a global scourge and must be addressed through collective international resolve.

Across all visits, the Indian delegation reiterated that terrorism must not be justified under any pretext and that those who harbor, fund, or politically support terrorism are equally complicit. The message was clear: the world must stand united against terror.
