Class 3rd Student Allegedly Beaten by Teachers at Presentation Convent School, Srinagar
A Class 3rd student of Presentation Convent Higher Secondary School in Srinagar was allegedly beaten severely by two teachers on Tuesday, prompting outrage from her family and calls for strict action.
According to family members of Ayaat Altaf, daughter of Mohammad Altaf Dar and a student of Class 3-C, the incident occurred within the school premises.
Speaking to Kashmir Press Service (KPS), the family alleged that Ayaat was "beaten to a pulp" by her teachers and left without medical assistance.
"No medical attention was provided to Ayaat, nor were the parents informed in time," the family members claimed. They said they had to rush to the school upon learning of the incident and then took the child to a hospital. “She is vomiting and has fallen unconscious,” they added.
Calling the incident “serious,” the family urged authorities to intervene. “Stern action should be taken against those responsible. The teachers must be held accountable for beating a minor child mercilessly,” they said.
Repeated attempts to reach school authorities for comment were unsuccessful.
The incident has sparked widespread concern among parents and the local community, with many demanding an impartial investigation and appropriate legal action against the accused.
