A devastating fire broke out in the Punzwa Vilgam area of Kupwara district last night, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake.
An official of the fire & Emergency department told GNS that four residential houses, four cowsheds, and five firewood sheds were gutted in the blaze.
Firefighters from six stations, including Vilgam, Kralpora, Kupwara, Trehgam, and Magam Handwara, sprang into action to combat the inferno. Their efforts paid off as they managed to bring the flames under control.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation, and authorities have not yet determined the origin of the blaze.
Residents have expressed concerns over the devastating loss and are demanding immediate compensation for the affected families. (GNS)
