The office of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Tuesday issued a formal clarification, dismissing as “misleading” the reports suggesting ambiguity over the appointment of senior political leader Nasir Aslam Wani as Advisor to the Chief Minister.
In an official statement released here, the CM’s office stated that Wani has already been appointed through a proper Government Order, and there is no ambiguity surrounding his status.
“Some misleading reports are being circulated regarding the appointment of Mr. Nasir Aslam Wani as Advisor to the Chief Minister. To clarify, Mr. Wani has officially been appointed through a Government Order,” the statement read.
The Chief Minister’s Office further clarified that only the finalisation of the terms and conditions of Wani’s appointment is pending, which, officials said, has no bearing on his role or contributions.
“The terms and conditions of his appointment are yet to be finalised due to procedural delays. However, this has not impeded Mr. Wani’s active and positive contribution to the governance of Jammu and Kashmir,” the statement added.
The clarification comes in the wake of speculative reports and aims to set the record straight while reaffirming Wani’s position within the administrative setup.
