India Reaffirms Support for Middle East Peace at Sharm El-Sheikh Summit
Minister of State for External Affairs and Environment, Forest & Climate Change, Shri Kirti Vardhan Singh, represented India at the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit held on October 13, 2025.
The high-level summit was co-hosted by U.S. President H.E. Donald Trump and Egyptian President H.E. Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, and was attended by several world leaders committed to peace and stability in the Middle East.
India reiterated its unwavering commitment to peace in the region, emphasizing the importance of resolving issues through dialogue and diplomacy. Shri Singh expressed India’s support for President Trump’s Gaza peace plan and acknowledged the constructive roles played by Egypt and Qatar in advancing peace efforts.
The summit took place in the wake of a landmark ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and the successful release of all remaining hostages. Leaders gathered to consolidate recent gains and reinforce collective efforts towards long-term regional stability, in alignment with President Trump’s vision for a lasting peace.
India reaffirmed its long-standing support for a negotiated two-state solution to the Israel-Palestine conflict. "India will continue to support all sincere efforts aimed at achieving a just, comprehensive and durable peace in the region," Shri Singh stated during his address.
The Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit marks a critical step forward in international cooperation toward Middle East peace, with India playing a constructive and principled role on the global stage.
