Major CASO in Srinagar, Over 100 Structures Checked During Surprise Op

Srinagar Police, assisted by 132 CRPF and the Mahila Company of 88 CRPF, on Thursday carried out a large-scale cordon and search operation in the busy Barbarshah area of the city.

Officials said the operation involved extensive searches of residential houses, commercial establishments, and surprise checking of vehicles and commuters. Nearly 100 houses and shops were searched during the exercise, which continued for several hours.

An official told the news agency Kashmir News Trust that the operation was a part of ongoing preventive measures aimed at strengthening the security grid in the heart of the summer capital. He added that such drives are conducted to ensure a safe environment for locals as well as tourists visiting the city.

Police said these coordinated efforts reflect the commitment of the force to maintaining peace, public order, and a sense of security across Srinagar.
