The Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII), Ahmedabad — a ‘Centre of Excellence’ recognized by the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Government of India — has launched Udyamita Pakhwada 2025, a nationwide initiative aimed at fostering an entrepreneurial mindset and strengthening local innovation ecosystems.
The two-week entrepreneurship celebration, being implemented in collaboration with state education departments and higher education institutions, seeks to nurture innovation, employment generation, and self-reliance across India’s fast-expanding entrepreneurial landscape.
Inauguration in Ladakh
The programme was formally inaugurated on 09 November 2025 in Leh, Ladakh by Shri Kavinder Gupta, Honourable Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, coinciding with National Entrepreneurship Day.
The inaugural event featured the release of the Enterprising Ladakh Report and a Catalogue of Enterprises, along with the unveiling of a Product Wall and an exhibition showcasing more than 80 local enterprises established under EDII’s initiatives.
Under the theme “Enterprising Ladakh”, over 1,500 Ladakhi students have already been oriented on enterprise development, MSME setup, banking procedures, and marketing skills.
Regional Rollout Across India
Following the Ladakh launch, similar programmes are being conducted simultaneously across 19 states between 09 and 21 November 2025. These include Gujarat, New Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, Assam, Karnataka, Odisha, Meghalaya, Chhattisgarh, Manipur, and others.
Each region will host workshops, exhibitions, competitions, dialogues, and mentorship sessions, tailored to local entrepreneurial strengths but unified under a national vision of promoting innovation and enterprise creation.
