Allama Dr Ghulam Rasool Hami on Friday said that true Sufis and Rishis, irrespective of sect or religion, have rendered selfless service for the welfare of humanity and laid the foundations of peace, tolerance and brotherhood in society.

Addressing a large gathering at the Central Grand Mosque, Saadpora Eidgah, on the occasion of the 814th annual Urs of Hazrat Khwaja Muin al-Din Chishti Ajmeri, Dr Hami highlighted the life, teachings and spiritual legacy of the revered Sufi saint.

He said that Khwaja Muin al-Din Chishti and other saints of his stature not only spread religious teachings but also demonstrated social values such as compassion, mutual respect and coexistence through their actions. Dr Hami said that the continued devotion of people across religions and regions to Khwaja Ajmeri stands as testimony to his unparalleled service to humanity without discrimination.

Referring to the spiritual influence of Khwaja Sahib, Dr Hami said that his greatest miracle was illuminating the hearts of millions with faith, knowledge and divine wisdom during his lifetime. He urged people to follow the teachings of Khwaja Ajmeri to promote peace, stability and harmony in society.

Dr Hami also appealed to the younger generation to adopt moral values, serve their parents with dedication and avoid social evils, particularly drug abuse, which he described as a serious threat to society. He called for collective efforts to eradicate drugs and build a secure and compassionate social environment.
