AAP Government Has Pushed Punjab Into Lawlessness: BJP’s Tarun Chugh

Senior BJP leader Tarun Chugh on Saturday launched a sharp attack on the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Punjab, alleging a complete collapse of law and order under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal.

Chugh claimed that violence and gun-related incidents have become widespread across the state, creating an atmosphere of fear among the public. He alleged that Punjab is witnessing unprecedented insecurity, stating that even during the peak years of militancy, people did not feel as terrorised as they do today.

According to the BJP leader, gangsters and criminal mafias are operating freely, while the state government has failed to control crime and ensure public safety. He further accused the AAP government of indulging in corruption and criminal practices, which, he said, have worsened the situation.

Chugh asserted that governance in Punjab has collapsed both economically and administratively, leaving youth, traders, women, and farmers feeling unsafe and threatened. He warned that the deteriorating situation poses serious risks, especially given Punjab’s strategic importance as a border state.

Calling for immediate action, Chugh said it was time for the Centre to intervene to restore law and order and safeguard the people of Punjab.
