IHRO J&K to Celebrate International Women’s Day 2026
As the world prepares to commemorate International Women’s Day on March 8, the International Human Rights Organization (IHRO), Jammu and Kashmir Chapter, has announced a grand celebration of the occasion in the Kashmir Valley, aimed at promoting women empowerment and recognising excellence across diverse fields.
In a press note issued on Friday, the IHRO J&K Chapter said it has undertaken a historic and impactful initiative by selecting 100 “Grand Women” from across the Kashmir Valley through a structured, nomination-based process. The final list of the distinguished women awardees was officially finalised on January 18.
According to IHRO, the selected women represent excellence, resilience and leadership in a wide range of sectors, including science, medicine, academics, sports, law, literature, innovation, social service and other professional domains.
As part of the celebrations, the organisation will honour women under multiple award categories, including the prestigious ICON Awardees, recognising individuals whose contributions have had a lasting impact on society and serve as an inspiration for future generations.
The IHRO J&K Chapter said the event will be held with dignity and purpose, reaffirming its commitment to advancing women’s rights, equality and empowerment in the region.
Further details regarding the venue, programme schedule and other award categories are expected to be announced in the coming days.
