The life of Umm al-Mu'minin Hazrat Khadijah al-Kubra (RA) is an unparalleled example for all humanity, reflecting loyalty, sacrifice, purity, and unwavering faith.
Thousands gathered at the revered Ziyarat of Sheikh al-Alam (RA) in Draigam, Budgam, where Chief of Karwani Islami International, Dr. Ghulam Rasool Hami, addressed a large congregation and highlighted the exalted status of Hazrat Khadijah (RA) in Islamic history.
He said that during the harshest trials in the blessed land of Makkah al-Mukarramah, the name of Hazrat Khadijah al-Kubra (RA) shines in golden letters as the foremost protector of the honour of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, the embodiment of loyalty, and a symbol of devotion. She was not only the first wife of the Noble Prophet ﷺ but also the very first person to accept Islam.
Dr. Hami described her noble personality as a supreme example of steadfastness, selflessness, and sacrifice. Owing to her purity, integrity, and exalted character, she came to be known as “Tahirah.” He noted that she devoted all her wealth and resources for the cause of Islam and endured severe hardships, including the difficult period of boycott in the valley of Sha'b Abi Talib, with remarkable patience and resolve.
Drawing from the Qur’an, Sunnah, the teachings of the Salaf-e-Salihin, and the sayings of Sufi saints, Dr. Hami emphasised that Hazrat Khadijah’s unwavering support and affirmation of the Prophet ﷺ laid a foundational pillar for the growth and triumph of Islam. Without her sacrifices, he said, the early establishment of the Islamic community would be unimaginable.
He urged women to incorporate the noble character and virtues of Hazrat Khadijah (RA) into their lives, describing her as an ideal example of dignity, modesty, and excellence in the roles of wife, mother, and member of society.
Dr. Hami also called for unity, mutual brotherhood, tolerance, and social harmony, urging people to rise above sectarian divisions. During the sacred month of Ramadan, he appealed to the public to support the poor, needy, and destitute, and to cooperate sincerely with religious and social organisations.
Addressing the growing menace of drug abuse, he warned that drugs are more destructive than poison, as they not only ruin individuals but devastate entire families and generations. He urged parents and society at large to protect their families from the dangers of narcotics.
The gathering concluded with prayers for peace, well-being, and harmony for all humanity.
