A black bear was spotted at multiple locations in Kulgam, prompting the Wildlife Department to launch an operation to safely capture the animal.
Incharge Wildlife Department Kulgam Imtiaz Naik said that a full-scale operation has been initiated to track and capture the bear at the earliest to prevent any untoward incident.
He also expressed concern over people chasing the animal and recording videos, terming the act dangerous.
“Some people are seen chasing the bear and making videos, which is risky and should be strictly avoided,” Naik said, urging residents to maintain distance and immediately inform the department if the bear is sighted.
