‘Eid Approaches, But SSA Employees in Bandipora Still Await Salaries’

The Jammu and Kashmir Rehbare Taleem Teachers Forum Bandipora has expressed serious concern over the continued delay in the disbursement of salaries to Data Entry Operators (DEOs) and other employees working under the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA), especially at a time when Eid-ul-Azha is approaching.

In a statement issued here, JK Rehbare Taleem Teachers Forum Bandipora District President Muntazir Muneer Rather said that the concerned Project Director has repeatedly failed to ensure the timely release of salaries, causing severe financial hardship and mental distress to the affected employees and their families.
He said that despite rendering essential and uninterrupted services in the Education Department, these employees continue to suffer because of administrative negligence and unnecessary delays in the release of their wages.

Muntazir Muneer Rather stated that Data Entry Operators and other SSA employees are performing crucial responsibilities in the department, including data management, online academic documentation, digital reporting, maintenance of official records, and providing administrative assistance at school and office levels. He added that their services are indispensable for the smooth functioning of educational institutions and the effective implementation of various government programmes.

He urged the authorities to immediately streamline the monthly salary mechanism so that employees receive their wages regularly and without delay in the future. He also appealed to the Project Director to address all other genuine and long-pending demands of the employees at the earliest, instead of forcing them to repeatedly raise their concerns publicly.

He emphasized that timely payment of salaries is the legitimate right of every employee and that withholding wages for months together badly affects the morale, dignity, and efficiency of the workforce, particularly during important occasions like Eid-ul-Azha.

The JK Rehbare Taleem Teachers Forum reiterated its full solidarity with the aggrieved employees and expressed hope that the concerned authorities will take compassionate and immediate measures to resolve the issue without any further delay, Muneer said.
