Karwan-e-Islami International on Saturday organised a grand convention at Jamia Qadria, Shadipora Sumbal, drawing thousands of workers, religious scholars, social activists, and youth from various districts across North Kashmir to launch an intensified campaign against drug and alcohol abuse.
The convention was presided over by the organisation's Ameer-e-Aala, Moulana Ghulam Rasool Hami. Speakers expressed deep concern over the growing menace of drug addiction, moral decline, and the challenges confronting the younger generation, stressing that collective awareness and action had become an urgent necessity.
Addressing the gathering, Moulana Hami announced that Karwan-e-Islami would further intensify its ongoing anti-drug campaign, taking it to every village, locality, and educational institution across the region.
"Drug addiction today is an attack on the faith, health, and future of our younger generation. If we choose to remain silent, future generations will never forgive us," he said.
He called upon mosques, madrasas, educational institutions, parents, and social organisations to work collectively to protect the youth from the trap of narcotics, and urged the community to rise above differences and unite against common challenges.
Dozens of individuals joined Karwan-e-Islami at the convention, pledging to support the organisation's mission. Participants at the conclusion of the gathering reaffirmed their commitment to transforming the anti-drug campaign into a mass movement and playing an active role in guiding and reforming the youth.
