The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) Kashmir has registered three cases against Abdul Majeed Mir of Lastiyal Kalaroos, Kupwara, for allegedly cheating multiple people by promising government jobs in various departments and financial institutions, including J&K Bank.
Preliminary investigations revealed the accused collected large sums of money from victims and supplied fake appointment orders to gain their trust. The case attracts offences under the RPC, IPC and BNS.
Notably, Crime Branch Kashmir has previously challaned two cases against him, making him a repeat offender. The public has been urged to stay vigilant and report such fraud to SSP EOW Kashmir, Abdul Waheed Shah, or write to the official email of the EOW.
