Two Land Brokers Held for Duping Budgam Man With Fake Property Documents
The Special Crime Wing Kashmir of Crime Branch J&K carried out house searches across Srinagar and Budgam in connection with a land fraud case in which two accused, in connivance with a Patwari, allegedly used forged documents to dupe a Budgam resident of lakhs of rupees.
The accused — Tariq Ahmad Sofi of Tulsi Bagh Srinagar and Tariq Ahmad Wani of Narkara Budgam, both land brokers — allegedly entered into a criminal conspiracy to misappropriate money under the guise of a land sale at Narkara, Srinagar. The case is registered under Sections 420, 468 and 120-B RPC.
Searches were carried out at multiple locations in the presence of Executive Magistrates to collect incriminating material. The public has been urged to report fraud to SSP SCW Kashmir or write to sspscw-kmr@jkpolice.gov.in.
