Special Vaccination Drive Held At Amar Singh College Srinagar
Srinagar (PR) : A special vaccination drive under the initiative of Directorate of Health Services Kashmir in collaboration with Amar Singh College Srinagar was held at Amar Singh College Srinagar on July 06, 2021 for the staff and students of the Srinagar city colleges. The special drive was jointly inaugurated by Director Health Services Kashmir, Mushtaq Ahmad Rather and Principal Amar Singh College Srinagar Prof. Bashir Ahmad Rather.
This was the 2nd special vaccination drive held at the college in which people of the age group of 18 yeas and above got 1st and 2nd jabs of covaxine and covishield as per the dosage. Round about 375 beneficiaries comprising of staff, students and families of staff and students of city colleges got vaccinated.
Speaking on the sidelines of the event Director Health Services Kashmir said that the initiative of vaccinating the stake holders of the city colleges has been taken to get fully prepared as and when government takes any final call on the reopening of colleges. He said that we all are supposed to fight the deadly COVID-19 and prevent the virus from spreading at our individual level. Speaking on the occasion Principal of the host college Prof. Bashir Ahmad Rather applauded the Directorate of Health Services Kashmir for the initiatives of vaccination being taken across the J& K UT.
He in his message to all the stakeholders and common people apprised of the benefits of vaccination and appealed all that no doubts of adverse results should be put in the minds of masses as there is nothing wrong in vaccination.
College Health Care Committe and Hospitality & Protocol Committee, led by Prof. Kounsar Hassan and Dr. Kousar Muzamil respectively and NSS volunteers from the host and different city colleges supported the vaccination team in the successful vaccination drive. Dr. Mir Mushtaq, spokes person of the Directorate of Health Services Kashmir, who was present there along with the ZMO concerned extended his heartfelt gratitude to the college management for the smooth and successful vaccination drive and assured that more such vaccination drives shall be held at the college as and when asked for.
