EJAC aghast over disengagement of ICDS helpers, Expressed displeasure ; Urges Government to revoke order
Srinagar, Sept, 11, : JK Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC) has expressed shock and displeasure over the decision of Jammu and Kashmir Government to disengage 918 helpers working in ICDS of Social Welfare Department and called it unfortunate.
President EJAC Mohd Rafique Rather in a press statement said that its unfortunate that livelihood of poor employees have been snatched who were working on meager renumeration to feed their families. He said that these helpers have been working in integrated child development scheme(ICDS) for years together and instead of enhancing their wages, government has unfortunately terminated their services thus leaving them to starvation.
Rafique Rather said that these helpers, were earning their bread and butter by working hard in the department and making the government schemes successful and added that they have worked with zeal and zest during COVID without even caring for their personal health and health of their families, thus their termination seems unjustified and illogical, he said.
Rather urged upon the government to resend the termination order of these poor female helpers and release their wages which has been kept withheld for last three years so that they can feed their families.
