Complete demarcation of 1200 kanals of additional land at Rakh-e-Arth Conly in 10 days: Div Com tells Officials
Srinagar, Dec 06 : The Divisional Commissioner of Kashmir, P K Pole has asked the concerned authorities to initiate the demarcation process of over 1200 Kanals of additional land for the Rakh-e-Arth housing colony with ten days.
Besides, the divisional administration has directed for carving out a map of the housing colony based on Geo-Coordinates showing the final demarcation of the area.
According to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer, the collector of Land Conservation and Management Authority (LCMA) in a meeting held earlier informed the divisional administration that 6500 Kanals of land stands already demarcated and adjacent land measuring 1200 Kanals approximately will be done very soon.
In the meeting, Pole directed that the Demarcation process of additional 1200 Kanals of land shall be done in ten days positively.
“A map of Rakhi-Arth shall be carved out based on Geo-coordinates showing the final demarcation of the area with approximate mass of 7526 Kanals. The map shall be duly authenticated by all stake holding departments,” Pole said.
Earlier, the Chief Engineer of mechanical wing for LCMA had told KNO that the department had stopped the evacuation process of Dal dwellers in view of incomplete facilities at their shifting place at Rakhi-Arth housing colony.
“When we tried to reach the Dal dwellers, they informed us about the incomplete project and the livelihood problems that may arise after their evacuation,” the official said.
The official further said that the inhabitants had also informed LCMA that their livelihood was dependent on the Dal only.
Pertinently, the Rakhi-Arth resettlement colony project is supposed to relocate around 10,000 Dal dwellers in order to conserve the Dal Lake. The process of the project started nearly two decades back with an estimate cost of over Rs 416 crores—(KNO)
