Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC) Supports JKRTC Employees Protests
Non-payment of their due salary unjustified, violation of basic rights: Rafique Rather
Srinagar (PR); JK Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC) has come out in support of SRTC employees who are on protest demanding payment of their due salary which has not been paid for six months now..In a statement President EJAC Mohd Rafique Rather said that it’s unfortunate that salaries of employees are not paid in time thus leaving employees to starvation and hardships. Rather said that RTC management has recently incorporated new vehicles into RTC flats which is a welcome step but at the same time government should have paid the salaries to it’s employees who are instrumental in in running and managing the newly incorporated flat.He said that time and again government compels employees to come out on roads and to protest for their geniune demands which he called unfortunate. President EJAC urged upon the government in particular to Hon’ble LG, worthy Chief Secretary and commissioner secretary transport to release the pending salaries to RTC employees, besides regularising services of consolidated employees of RTC and post retirement benefits in favour of retired employees of the corporation, release already sanctioned 56 % Dearness allowance (DA) and implrmentation of 7th Pay Commission in favour of employees.
President EJAC said that demands of SRTC employees are genuine and justified and added that delay in resolving these demands will further create mistrust among employees which in turn will tell upon the working of the corporation.
He said that EJAC not only supports the protest program kickstarted by RTC Workers Union but will also launch a protest program in support of RTC employees if the demands putforth are not addressed on priority.
