We should encourage and inspire students from the young age so that they can work on scientific innovations and make world a better place to live besides creates new livelihood opportunities,” he said on the eve of Science Week organised by Department of Physics National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar in association with Sophisticated Analytical Instrumentation Facility, Punjab University, Chandigarh
Var praised Director NIT Dr Rakesh Sehgal for opening the gates of prestigious NIT to students of all ages. “Dr Rakesh invites children, provides hands on learning, information about various labs to them. This opens up the vision of these children and students, catalysing their innovative, experimental and scientific observation. They see world in a new dimension and their thinking is developed,” he said.
He praised Dr Sehgal for his tremendous efforts to bridge the gap between schools and NIT. “As of now schools feel attached to NIT. Students particularly of class 11 and 12 are enthusiastic whenever they get opportunity to visit here,” he said.

“We congratulate NIT and its director for inviting the students of the schools and give them an opportunity to view the world in a new view. We hope that such programmes will continue in the future also. This is a step in the positive direction,” he said.
