DHEW Pulwama organizes awareness program at GHSS Kakapora

District Hub for Empowerment of Women, organized an awareness program at Govt. Higher Secondary School Kakapora Pulwama. show casing an unwavering commitment towards women’s empowerment and societal transformation.

This event, held as part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mohatsav celebrations, aimed to enlighten students about the government’s invaluable initiatives, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP), and Nasha Mukht Bharat, which promote gender equality and combat substance abuse.

Under the astute guidance of District Social Welfare Officer & Nodal Officer (DHEW) Pulwama Rameez Raja , the District Hub for Empowerment of Women (DHEW) played a pivotal role in raising awareness among attendees, igniting a spirit of action, and ensuring the resounding success of these programs. Recognizing the transformative potential of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao and Nasha Mukht Bharat , DHEW Pulwama tirelessly awared the gathering regarding declining child sex ratio , BBBP , Sukanaya Samridhi Yojana , Janani Suraksha Yojna, one stop centre, women safety laws, women and child helpline number, women welfare schemes , PC and PNDT act, POCSO Act, Domestic violence act, and various scholarships.

During the program District Mission Coordinator Mansha Ahad, Specialist in Financial Literacy DHEW Amir Hussain, Advocate Waseem ah. Shah, Advocate Maqsood Ahmad Magray from DLSA Pulwama put emphasis on the importance of education among girl students.

They also urged girl students to allow their girls to get a properly education, as education is the best way to empower girl , an important pillar of our nation.

They also raised the issue of gender inequality and said that the men and women are the two sides of the same coin. Mansha DMC further addressed the gathering about BBBP scheme and assistance being provided to women in distress.

She also stressed upon the dropout ratio of girl students in schools which is a major hindrance in the path of development .She said that girls should get an equal opportunity to explore herself and should be supported by their parents and society to become an independent women.

She also urged girl students to avail the benefits of the schemes. She further said that District Administration Pulwama is fully committed to bring positive and sustainable change in the lives of women & conveyed their message, fostering positive social change, and striving to build an equitable society free from substance abuse.

Distinguished speakers at this enlightening event illuminated various government initiatives that create an environment conducive to women exercising their choices, gaining control over their lives, and accessing opportunities.

These initiatives empower women to make a significant impact on society, addressing gender disparities and discrimination in a positive and impactful manner.
