EJAC president aghast over non restoration of R R facility to students of Pvt schools

President Employees Joint Action Committee Jammu Kashmir, Mr Fayaz Ahmad Shabnam expressed his anguish and strong resentment over the stand taken by the Board of School Education by not restoring the facilities like R R,Examination forms etc to the students enrolled in private schools which have their buildings constructed on non proprietary land.

He said that these schools have contributed to the society beyond imagination in terms of education for the past more than three decades.

Their role can’t be underestimated and the government should not follow the iron hand policy for these institutions, instead they need encouragement for the commendable services they perform vis a vis the education and the employment.

Mr Fayaz Ahmad Shabnam said that the Government should formulate a policy for these institutions with a positive outlook so that they are not harassed in any manner. These are the institutions who kept the flame of education aglow in the challenging circumstances.

The locals have spared the patches of land to these institutions in their respective localities with free will for the larger good of the community and the local panchayats and the elders of the localities have endorsed the same.

Mr Shabnam said that the tagging of students of these schools with other institutions is not inconsonating with the spirit of Right to Education.

Mr Shabnam while committing on the silent dossier of tagging of these schools said that this type of action shall have far reaching effects on the social fabric and thousands of highly educated youth shall be deprived of their livelihood and thousands of employees working in these institutions in non scholastic activities shall lose their jobs.

The concept of tagging will mar the essence of studying in private schools, so this issue needs to be resolved with a humanitarian angle and its negative effects on the jobs and the society as a whole should not be ignored and undermined.

The role of these schools in the employment generation should not be evaluated on micro level. It has broader and macro canvas.

The tagging as a silent dossier shall prove harmful and disadvantageous to the society as a whole.
These schools are the key players in the employment generation as the erstwhile state sans the employment opportunities.

Mr Shabnam urged the Government, the department of School Education and especially the Chief Secretary to do justice with the students and their parents who are worried about the future of wards.

He further said that the Government should uphold the orders of the Honourable High court and the Board of School Education should be directed to honour the directions/ orders of the Honourable court issued in this context in the best interests of the stake holders in particular and the masses in general.

EJAC is hopeful that the justice will be done with these schools so that students and their parents could heave a sigh of relief and prepare themselves for the ensuing Annual examinations without worries.
