Srinagar: Another patient has lost his life due to medical negligence at Paras Hospital Dalgate in Srinagar, which has been in negative news since its inception.
This is the second major incident in a month where the irresponsibility and lack of concern of Hospital administration has claimed a patient's life.
Despite the hospital claims to provide world-class medical services, the recent revelations about its establishment and its medical and paramedical staff became badly exposed.
A few days ago, a family of Tengpora, Srinagar staged a protest against the treatment of their sick relative in Paras Hospital.
The protesting family had told the media that the administration and doctors of Paras Hospital have behaved extremely irresponsibly with the patient, Abdul Hai Khan, a cancer patient who had recently undergone surgery.
The surgery was done, but after that the condition of the patient worsened due to the hospital’s negligence.
“The patient was not kept in the ICU even when needed, and essential medical facilities and care were neglected, despite the family being charged exorbitant amounts, ” the family members said.
The family alleged that their pleas to the hospital administration went unheard, with demands for money being their only response.
It is pertinent to mention that a similar incident occurred last month, leading to another patient's death due to similar negligent behaviour.
The administrators of Paras Hospital had claimed they would provide international standard medical services and facilities in Kashmir, but their performance has been disappointing in the initial years.
The general public has demanded an investigation into the ill-behaviour, pointing out that “the hospital is misleading and extorting money from innocent people under the guise of providing world-class medical services.”
Earlier, a major dispute arose regarding the allocated land for the hospital at the time of its establishment, and now cases of irresponsible medical care and extortion from patients have emerged.
People have urged the LG administration, particularly the health department, to investigate the entire matter.
People from various sections have urged the government, mainly the health department for an investigation over the hospital administration's poor behaviour and said that they are extorting money from the common people by claiming to provide world-class medical facilities, which is very disappointing.
