The Health and Medical Education Department of Jammu and Kashmir has appointed Dr. Aijaz Ahmad Bhat as the new Medical Superintendent of Government Medical College (GMC) Handwara. Dr. Bhat succeeds Dr. Nisar Wani in this key role.
Dr. Bhat, recognized for his leadership and extensive experience in the health sector, previously served as the Deputy Medical Superintendent of District Hospital (DH) Handwara. His tenure there was marked by notable contributions to healthcare administration.
In an effort to enhance patient care and improve hospital administration, the department has issued an order designating Dr. Bhat, currently the In-Charge Deputy Medical Superintendent of GMC Handwara, as the Medical Superintendent.
The appointment is expected to bring significant improvements to GMC Handwara, a facility that has faced various challenges in the past.
