Six policemen injured in anti-encroachment drive in Jammu
Jammu, Sept 16: As many as six police personnel were injured when the encroachers resorted to stone pelting during an anti-encroachment drive in this winter capital of the state today.
”The 300 kanals of land belonging to forest, irrigation and Jammu Development Authority was encroached in Sidhra belt near Tawi riverbed and when teams of police reached the spot, the encroachers ,’’ Arun Manhas, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Jammu, who headed the team said.
”Nearly six policemen sustained injuries due to stone pelting and they have been rushed to the hospital,’’ he said and added that six cranes were immediately pressed into service.
