Mission Vatsalya Organizes Sports Event at Palaash Kupwara to Promote Child Well-Being

In a significant initiative to promote physical fitness and well-being among children in child care institutions, the District Child Protection Unit (DCPU) under Mission Vatsalya Kupwara, in collaboration with the National Institute of Public Cooperation and Child Development (NIPCCD), organized a three-day sports event for children from Palaash and Pareesha child care institutions.

The event, held at Palaash in Handwara, featured a variety of sports activities, including chess, carom, and yoga, aimed at encouraging physical activity and mental stimulation. The event was conducted under the guidance of Mr. Hidayatullah Mir, District Child Protection Officer (DCPU) Kupwara, who oversaw the successful execution of the program.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Hidayatullah Mir emphasized the importance of sports in the holistic development of children. "Sports activities are essential not just for physical fitness but also for promoting mental growth, learning, and development," he said. "Such activities teach children valuable life skills, including teamwork, discipline, and perseverance, all of which contribute to their overall well-being."

The event was well-received by the children, with many actively participating in the sports activities, which provided them with a fun and educational experience. The initiative reflects the ongoing efforts to ensure the physical, emotional, and social development of children in child care institutions across the district.

Mission Vatsalya, in partnership with DCPU Kupwara and NIPCCD, continues to work towards the welfare of children, creating opportunities for growth, learning, and recreation.
