SSP Handwara Reviews Republic Day 2025 Arrangements

In preparation for the upcoming Republic Day celebrations of 2025, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) PD Handwara, Sh. Mushtaq Ahmad-JKPS, chaired a security review meeting at the Conference Hall of DPO Handwara.
The meeting was attended by Commanding Officers from 21 RR, 32 RR, 30 RR, and 15 RR, as well as Commandants from 26th and 27th Battalions of BSF and 92nd/162nd Battalions.
During the discussions, the concerned officers briefed on the security measures and preparations to ensure a safe and smooth Republic Day celebration. Detailed plans and strategies were presented to enhance security across their respective areas of responsibility, with a focus on safeguarding public spaces and facilitating the orderly conduct of the national event.
Key aspects of the meeting included strategies for crowd management, traffic regulation plans, and intelligence sharing. To ensure the event concludes without incidents, SSP Handwara assigned specific tasks to the concerned officers and emphasized the importance of precision and meticulous planning in carrying them out.
Special attention was given to maintaining high levels of alertness and increasing area domination in the region, with a focus on providing a robust response to any Anti-National Elements (ANE) and thwarting potential disruptions during the Republic Day celebrations. SSP Handwara underscored the importance of countering any threat effectively and ensuring the safety of both participants and the general public.
The SSP also directed that any elements involved in disturbing the peaceful atmosphere should be dealt with strictly under the relevant legal provisions. Additionally, stringent action was mandated against individuals who misuse social media platforms to provoke violence, especially among the youth.
The meeting concluded with a unanimous resolve to ensure the safe and peaceful conduct of the Republic Day celebrations, reaffirming the commitment of law enforcement agencies to protect the public and uphold the spirit of the national event.
