Bazm-e-Shair o Adab Organizes Grand Poetry Gathering in Sopore
On Sunday, January 19, the Bazm-e-Shair o Adab (Literary Society) of North Kashmir hosted a grand poetry gathering at Sangri Hotel (Fiza) in Sopore. The event saw the participation of several renowned poets from across the region and was a significant cultural affair in the area.
The ceremony began with the recitation of the Holy Quran by Mr. Tanha Mushtaq, followed by a beautiful Naat presented by Hassan Darvesh. The formal proceedings commenced with the formation of the presidium, where Mr. Ab. Khaleq Shamas served as the president, alongside esteemed poets Mr. Hassan Azhar and Mr. Rashid Roshan, who joined him on the stage.
In his welcoming address, Mr. Yusuf Sameem highlighted the importance of fostering brotherly ties with all literary societies and praised the ongoing contributions of Bazm-e-Shair o Adab to the region's cultural and literary heritage.
Following the opening remarks, the event shifted to the much-awaited poetry session. A wide array of poets presented their work, enchanting the audience with their verse. Poets who recited during the session included Mr. Khaleq Shams, Mr. Athar Farooq, Mr. Hassan Azhar, Mr. Yusuf Sameem, Mr. Abid Ashraf, Mr. Rashid Roshan, Mr. Hassan Darvesh, Mr. Majrooh Kashmiri, Mr. Riyaz Hakbari, Mr. Ghulla Mir, Mr. Shehzad Manzoor, Mr. Riyaz Parwana, Mr. Mohiuddin Dilawar, Mr. Sarwar Bulbul, Mr. Tanha Mushtaq, Mr. Ramzan Johar, Mr. Shaukat Hashmi, Mr. Nazir Nabi, and Mr. Basharat Wanigami.
The event concluded with Mr. Yusuf Sameem thanking all the poets for their contributions and expressing his gratitude to the media personnel who attended the gathering, acknowledging their role in promoting such cultural events.
The poetry session, which brought together a diverse group of literary minds, ended on a high note, celebrating the rich poetic tradition of Kashmir and the unity of the region's literary community.
