JKCSF Lauds Cyber Police Kashmir for Dismantling Mule Account Syndicate
The Jammu & Kashmir Civil Society Forum (JKCSF), under the leadership of its Chairman Kh Abdul Qayoom Wani, wholeheartedly commends the commendable efforts of the Cyber Police Kashmir Zone for dismantling a major mule bank account syndicate and arresting 21 accused involved in cyber-enabled financial frauds.
In a statement issued here, Wani praised the diligence and professionalism shown by the Cyber Police team, led by SSP Srinagar Imtiyaz Hussain Mir, in unearthing a network of 7,200 mule accounts created since January 2025. “This is not just a crackdown on financial crime but a strong message to those exploiting vulnerable sections of our society,” Wani said.
He emphasized that targeting economically weaker individuals and luring them into illegal financial activities is a dangerous trend that not only affects the victims but also undermines the trust in digital banking systems. JKCSF lauds the investigative depth and swift action that has brought the culprits to book and safeguarded countless citizens from being duped.
Wani urged the public, particularly the youth, to remain cautious and not to share or rent their bank accounts or official documents for any unauthorized or suspicious activity. He also stressed the need for greater awareness at the community level to prevent the exploitation of common people in such fraudulent networks.
JKCSF assures full support to agencies working for the protection of public interest and calls for continued collaboration between civil society and law enforcement to combat the growing menace of cyber fraud.
Furthermore, JKCSF urges the Police and concerned authorities to initiate strong and focused action against the powerful drug mafia and trade mafia involved in the adulteration of food items, which poses a serious threat to public health and well-being. In the larger interest of common people, JKCSF appeals for stringent measures to root out these dangerous networks and ensure accountability at all levels.
