MLA Gulmarg Farooq Shah Holds Public Darbar at Kunzer
MLA Gulmarg, Farooq Ahmad Shah, held a Public Darbar at Kunzer to connect with residents and personally review development works in the area.
The event saw participation from several village delegations from Block Kunzer, who shared their concerns regarding roads, water supply, electricity, healthcare, and education.
Mr. Shah listened attentively to all the public grievances and assured speedy redressal of the issues raised. He directed officials to take immediate action and emphasized that all departments must work in close coordination with the people to bring visible and lasting development to the region.
The MLA, accompanied by senior officers from various departments, took note of the demands and instructed them to prioritize public welfare. He further stressed the importance of community engagement to ensure effective implementation of government schemes.
In a separate meeting with officers, Mr. Shah discussed plans to beautify Kunzer Town. He instructed officials to install street lights, develop community parks, and carry out blacktopping of internal roads to enhance the town’s infrastructure and overall appearance.
Mr. Shah also directed the Roads and Buildings Department to begin the long-pending upgradation of the Kunzer-Hardshoora road without further delay. The project, estimated at Rs. 10.50 crore, is being funded under the NABARD scheme and has already received administrative approval. He urged that blacktopping of smaller link roads should also be taken up on priority to improve connectivity between villages.
Earlier in the day, MLA Gulmarg inaugurated a new Axis Bank branch in Magam Town. MLA Beerwah, Dr. Mohammad Shafi Wani, attended the event as the Guest of Honour. On this occasion, Mr. Shah requested Axis Bank to consider opening another branch in the Gulmarg-Tangmarg area, recognizing its significance as a prominent tourist destination.
The Public Darbar reflected the MLA’s commitment to bringing governance to the doorstep of the people and ensuring that development reaches every corner of the constituency.
