No ban on ‘Snow Drop’ Packaged Water, Clarifies Food Safety Department

The Food Safety Department Baramulla on Monday clarified that there is  no complete ban  on the sale of  Snow Drop  packaged drinking water in the market. The clarification comes amid circulating rumors on social media claiming that all variants of the product had been banned.

According to an company spokesperson, the order issued by the authorities  applied only to Batch No. 0062 of the 2-litre variant , which had already been  recalled from the market several months ago . “It is important for the public to understand that the issue was limited to one specific batch that was withdrawn well in time. Currently, all other  Snow Drop products available in the market have been tested and found completely safe,” the spokesperson said.

A public notice issued by  Snow Drop   also stated that the company’s products meet all  food safety and hygiene standards  and that misinformation being spread online is “misleading consumers and misinterpreting official communication.” The company urged people to rely only on verified updates from official pages or the Food Safety Department.

Meanwhile,  Food Safety Officer Baramulla  reiterated that there is  no issue with other products of Snow Drop  currently available in the market. “Only a particular batch had some quality concerns, which was immediately recalled. As of now, there is no problem with the other variants, and all are safe for public consumption,” the officer said.

This clarification aims to prevent public confusion and ensure that accurate information about product safety reaches consumers in time.
