The Karnah Shining Band, sponsored by the Shakti Vijay Brigade, clinched the second position in both the folk song and folk dance categories at a Union Territory–level cultural competition held in Srinagar under the aegis of the Department of Culture and Youth Affairs.
The achievement marks a proud moment for the Pahadi community of Tangdhar, whose rich cultural heritage was showcased on a prominent platform. It also reflects the continued efforts of the Indian Army, which has remained committed to supporting and promoting local culture, talent, and traditions in the Karnah region.
The band’s recognition at the UT level has been widely appreciated, symbolizing the growing visibility of Pahadi cultural expressions and the strengthening of civil–military cooperation in fostering community development.
