Kashmir Bar Association Prez Rejects JKPSC KCS Mains Result, Alleges Regional Bias

President of the Kashmir Bar Association, Advocate Haamid Bhat, has strongly rejected and condemned the recently announced JKPSC KCS Mains results, terming them blatantly biased, regionally skewed, and a direct insult to merit.

Advocate Bhat stated that the outcome exposes a deep-rooted malaise within the recruitment process, where deserving and highly competent candidates from the Kashmir Division appear to have been deliberately sidelined, giving rise to a serious presumption of institutional discrimination.

“It is impossible to accept that Kashmir—a region known for producing top-ranked professionals, officers, and academicians across the country—has suddenly lost its merit. This result is not accidental; it reflects systemic bias and selective favoritism,” he asserted.

He warned that such engineered outcomes severely undermine the credibility of the Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC), erode public confidence in constitutional institutions, and push educated youth towards frustration and despair.

“The JKPSC must remember that it is not a private fiefdom but a constitutional body bound by principles of fairness, neutrality, and equal opportunity. Any attempt to marginalize a particular region will not be tolerated,” Advocate Bhat said.

He further demanded an immediate, transparent, and time-bound independent audit of the entire selection process, including evaluation, scaling, and moderation. Failing this, he warned, the Kashmir Bar Association would be compelled to initiate appropriate legal and democratic action.

“Merit cannot be sacrificed at the altar of bias. The youth of Kashmir will not remain silent spectators to this injustice,” he concluded.
