The distribution of LPG cylinders was carried out in an orderly and transparent manner in Sumbal and Bandipora on Thursday under the supervision of the district administration.
Officials said the process was monitored by Deputy Commissioner Indu Kanwal Chib, with strict adherence to established guidelines. Beneficiaries received cylinders only after verification through Digital Authentication Code (DAC) and One-Time Password (OTP) systems to ensure transparency and prevent irregularities.
The distribution was facilitated by Valley Gas, led by proprietor Abdul Hamid Sofi, who coordinated with authorities to ensure smooth supply and crowd management.
Adequate security arrangements were put in place by police to regulate public movement and avoid inconvenience. Residents welcomed the transparent mechanism, noting that the use of DAC and OTP helped eliminate duplication and ensured timely delivery to genuine consumers.
The district administration reiterated its commitment to ensuring hassle-free distribution of essential commodities and urged the public to cooperate in maintaining order during such drives.
