Kulgam shuts against 5 braid chopping incidents in just 24 hrs

Srinagar, Sept 26 :  A complete shutdown was today observed in south Kashmir district of Kulgam, where five braid chopping incidents were reported in just 24 hours.
Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti has directed police to constitute a special team to probe the mysterious hair chopping incidents in Kulgam and other places of the state.
Shops and business establishments were closed and traffic was off the roads in entire Kulgam district, where people were demanding that the culprits behind such crimes should be identified and punished immediately.
Yesterday, business and other activities were affected in Kashmir valley on a call by Kashmir Traders and Manufacturers Federation against summoning of its president Mohammad Yaseen Khan by National Investigation Agency in funding case.
Ms Mufti yesterday directed Director General of Police S P Vaid to constitute a special team to identify and bring to justice the persons behind the mysterious hair chopping incidents which came to fore in Kulgam district and other places of the state. (UNI)
