J&K Govt Will Collapse on Its Own: LoP Sunil Sharma

Leader of Opposition Sunil Sharma on Friday said the present J&K government would "collapse on its own," asserting that the BJP would play no role in either toppling or forming it.

Speaking to reporters in Jammu, Sharma termed the political situation unstable, claiming the government was bound to fall due to internal contradictions. Targeting the National Conference, he said the party had built its politics around Article 370 but was now sending mixed signals, citing recent meetings between CM Omar Abdullah and PM Modi as evidence of an inconsistent stand.

Sharma alleged the NC's relevance had weakened over time and claimed senior leaders, including Farooq Abdullah, had changed their tone following recent political engagements. He further alleged backchannel attempts to engineer defections, while maintaining the BJP had no involvement.

"The government will fall on its own. The BJP will neither form it nor make it fall," Sharma said, adding the present dispensation would not complete its full term.
