Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Saturday said the time had come for Kashmiri Pandits to reconnect with their roots and contribute to a transformed Jammu and Kashmir, describing the community's journey from displacement to global success as a story of courage, resilience and determination.
Addressing the Global Kashmiri Pandit Conclave: From Exile to Excellence at SKICC, Sinha said the gathering marked a historic moment reflecting both the community's achievements and its enduring bond with its homeland.
Recalling the displacement of Kashmiri Pandits in the 1990s, the LG said the community had endured immense suffering but chose reconstruction and service over despair, turning their pain into purpose while preserving their identity, culture and traditions.
He said members of the community had excelled across India and the world in fields such as education, administration, arts, literature and science, without ever seeking sympathy, and that many were now returning to engage with their homeland with renewed confidence.
Sinha said the conclave was not merely symbolic but offered a roadmap for economic empowerment, social participation and cultural revival, and described it as a bridge connecting generations who carry forward the community's legacy.
He urged community members to build institutions in Jammu and Kashmir, nurture talent, and participate in the Union Territory's development, saying their experience and knowledge were invaluable to the region's future.
The LG added that a new Jammu and Kashmir was emerging, with its future closely linked to the participation and contribution of the Kashmiri Pandit community.
