Police have registered an FIR in Baramulla following a complaint by Sub-Judge (Judicial Magistrate) Majid Farooq Mir over the alleged fabrication of certified copies of a judgment and decree in a civil case that was never instituted.

The complaint names certain court staff and private individuals on charges including criminal conspiracy, cheating, forgery and criminal breach of trust.

Following a fact-finding inquiry, the Principal District & Sessions Judge directed the registration of an FIR and instructed the judicial officer to inform the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) that the purported judgment and decree, despite bearing his signatures, are fake and fabricated, as no such case was ever filed in the court.
