A 40-year-old Amarnath Yatri from Punjab was found dead inside a bus parked outside Yatra Niwas at Pantha Chowk in Srinagar on Sunday.
The deceased has been identified as Himat Batti alias Joga Singh.
He was found unconscious by fellow pilgrims and staff and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.
Police have initiated legal proceedings, and the cause of death is being ascertained.
