Mobile Internet services snapped in South Kashmir

 

 

Srinagar: In the wake of series of incidents of braid chopping in southern districts of Valley, authorities have suspended  internet services across South Kashmir to prevent circulation of videos.

Official sources told GNS that police during midnight sent a communication to the cellular companies wherein it  directed them to snap 2G, 3G and 4G services in Anantnag, Kulgam, Shopian and Pulwama districts of south Kashmir with immediate effect.

Pertinently, dozens of braid chopping incidents across Kashmir valley during past more than a week have triggered scare among the residents, especially women.

The police have formed Special Investigation Teams to probe the incidents. However, so far the police and the authorities have been clueless.

The police have also announced a reward of Rs 6 lakh for credible information leading to arrest of any person behind braid chopping incidents.

Helplines have also been established across the Valley to help in nabbing the culprits. (GNS)
