Baramulla: District Administration Baramulla today celebrated “National Unity Day” with zeal and enthusiasm here at Showkat Ali Stadium Baramulla with District Development Commissioner Dr Nasir Ahmad Naqash as the chief guest.
Senior Superintendent of Police Mir Imtiyaz Hussain, Additional Deputy Commissioner Farooq Ahmad Baba, CMO, CEO, Tehsildar Baramulla, Tehsildar HQ, Sports Officer Baramulla, Coordinator NYK various District and sectoral officers besides NYK volunteers, students and other prominent sections of the society were present on the occasion.
On the occasion, the DDC administered oath declaring unity, security and integrity of the nation as the prime priority besides striving hard to spread the message of unity among the fellow countrymen.
Speaking on the occasion, the DDC highlighted the importance of its observance and said that this day remembers us the endeavors of freedom fighter Sardar vallabhai Patel who contributed towards the unification of the nation. He urges people to work for the peace and progress of the society and hails the organizers of the programme.
Later the DDC flagged off the “Run for unity” as part of the programme in which people of different walks participated.
