Restrictions lifted in downtown, SeK in Srinagar

Srinagar, Nov 28 : Curfew-like restrictions imposed in the downtown, Shehar-e-Khas (SeK) and areas falling under two police stations in the civil lines and old city since early Monday morning have been lifted.

The gates of historic Jamia Masjid were open and security forces and police personnel, deployed to implement restrictions yesterday, have been withdrawn.

All educational institutions are open while rail service has also been resumed on Tuesday in the valley after remaining suspended yesterday as a precautionary measure following strike called by separatists against the alleged ill treatment of Kashmiri detenues in jails within and outside the state.
