Srinagar, Dec 18 : Jammu and Kashmir police on Monday recovered a girl, who was allegedly abducted in Budgam within 24 hours from Banihal Railway station in Jammu region and arrested the kidnapper.
A police spokesperson said that Police Station Budgam received a complaint from a person (name withheld) that his daughter was kidnapped by one Gazanfer Ali Rather, a resident of Ichgam in the district, December 16.
A case was registered and investigation was taken up.
During the course of investigation, he said police followed various leads which led to tracking of the accused and the kidnapped girl from Banihal railway station.
“The girl was recovered and the accused involved was arrested, he said, adding after completing all the legal formalities, the girl was handed over to her parents.
