New Delhi, Feb 9 : The Jammu and Kashmir State Government on Friday told the Supreme Court three-judge bench that the State Minority Commission was taking all effective steps and necessary measures to make a blueprint in connection with the case of a plea filed by a lawyer, seeking to identify and stop in providing the assistance and the packages to Muslims in the state.

The apex court three-judge bench, headed by Chief Justice of India (CJI) Dipak Misra and also comprising Justices AM Khanwilkar and DY Chandrachud, would now hear the matter after four weeks, after the state government told it that the blueprint of identifying the non-Muslims would be made within four weeks.

The plea filed by lawyer, Ankur Sharma, claimed that in the state of Jammu and Kashmir, the Muslims were a majority community and their numbers were large, but they were receiving and getting all kinds of packages and assistance from the central government related to the minority community.
